Letter from Br. Błażej: Night 188

August 31, 2022 Wednesday

At our place it is quiet. We survived another night. War on the front. “Ukrainian Truth” reports that in Belgorod in Russia, where our Capuchin brothers live, explosions were heard at night. We pray for the end of the war. God give us peace!!!

The Word…. Saint Paul, touches once again my mentality. How do I think, how do I speak? Only like a human being, i.e. in categories of my flesh, or do I have the thinking of a Christian and think like a child of God?

A Christian is one who was born in Ukraine, for example, but does not think only like Ukrainians. Similarly, a Russian, a Pole, they were born in their homelands, but they think like Christians. Utopia or faith? “Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own”. — Which people is that? Perhaps any in which the Spirit of Jesus lives? God is love!

We live in war, we don’t live by war.

Uzhhorod is calm, without alarms. Brother Roman in pastoral ministry. (photo) And I am slowly entering a new reality.
